Introduce Yourself

Hi I'm Liz and very much an amateur gardener, but am interested in the soil, and how the nutrients have to be replaced We have had an allotment locally for a few years. I really enjoy growing fruit I'm about to start the course Citizen Science, sending the world, and wonder if there are particular sensors that are used

Welcome Liz!

The GROW Observatory provides Flower Power sensors to participants in the Changing Climate Mission, for more information on this Mission and to see if you are eligible to join visit: https://growobservatory.org/get-involved.

Sadly the Flower Power sensor has been discontinued by the company that made it but here are some similar sensors we have identified, please that these have not been integrated with or tested by the GROW:

  1. Xiaomi Plants Monitor - Ollivan
  2. 2 in 1 Metal Probe Plant Soil pH Value Moisture Tester Sensor Garden Portable Testing Tool
  3. VG-METER-200 - Vegetronix
  4. SEN-13637 - (only a sensor) SparkFun
  5. Garden Sensor - Edyn: https://edyn.com/
  6. Smart Sensor - Gardena (formerly from Koubachi)
  7. PlantLink - OSO Technologies: http://myplantlink.com

The course also includes a section on making your own soil sensors using the Smart Citizen kit.

Hope that is helpful.

Best wishes Victoria
